AuV2, Sleeping for now

Heya guys, just giving you all a quick update.

AuV2 is moving. Our current forum hosting service is pretty good, but we've outgrown it, and with the limitations being fairly strict, it was a matter of time.

Our current problem, is our domain name is registered through this host, and they refuse to release it. So basically, we're being held hostage here for another 5 or so months.

Our current plan, get a domain name registered by one of us, get a temporary, better site ( maybe enjin ), and begin development on hosting our own independent website.

Sucks, but at least we can move forwards in other ways.

It's my experience that although they will keep doing the domain thing for you and there is still life in your hosting plan, you would be able to change the dns settings for your site. ICANN has set up a policy for domain transfer: "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domain_registration#Domain_name_transfer" that your registrar must follow. Typically all you need to do is get a new hosting service and set up the domain forwarding from there.

Do you have a new hosting service in mind, preferably one donated to you?

I've made some websites and I can tell you that the hosting is going to be a lot more expensive unless you get a generous host that offers decent storage.
